TINIYAK ni Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) chairman William “Butch” Ramirez na tuloy ang Southeast Asian (SEA) Games sa November 30.

“I would like to inform the Southeast Asian Federation and all our Filipino people and the Filipino sporting world that the order of the President no matter what, it’s of national interest to proceed with the November 30 Southeast Asian Games,” ani Ramirez sa ulat ng Rappler.

“He (Duterte) insisted that we expand our energies towards our athletes’ preparation for the Games, and that the issues of the Philippine Olympic Committee to be solved within their ranks,” dagdag ni Ramirez.

Ipinunto ni Tolentino na sa ilalim ng POC Bylaws Article 7 section 6, “a special election may be called by the chairman within 30 days from the date the vacancy arises if the named successors – first vice president and second vice president – are not qualified to succeed.

“These two officers must possess the qualifications of a POC president. Among others, they must be an incumbent president of an Olympic Sport-NSA.”
